Surrounded by family and friends, Leo Schoffer was recognized recently by the Jewish Federation, for his lifetime of philanthropy and leadership. The tribute dinner took place on July 21 at Linwood Country Club, at the conclusion of Federation’s 19th Annual Golf tournament. The successful golf tournament was chaired by Gert Novin and Ed Kline.
Federation president Jeff Kripitz, together with life-long friend to Leo, attorney Joel Fleishman, offered words of praise and tribute to Leo Schoffer for his quiet leadership and commitment to a wide range of causes including public and day school education, Holocaust studies, higher education and Jewish community planning. “Leo is an outstanding leader, who is an example of both how to be successful, as well as how to give back to the community,” Jeff Kripitz said.
When receiving his award, Leo insisted that he be joined by his wife, Patti, and father, Sam, praising them for all they do every day, “…both as my partners and as an inspiration to me.”
The Federation raised $50,000 on the golf outing and tribute book, a landmark success. “It was a great day, with a great honoree” Jeff Kripitz said. “We look Forward to next year at Linwood!”
